We planted the seed for Grow Love with a simple belief: what we wear can express how we feel.
Our emotions change every day. So wouldn't it be cool if we can change what we wear to reflect this?
The idea started with an unexpected moment. A friend of mine created a t-shirt featuring a graphic of a gun. I wanted to support him by wearing it, but the image didn't represent me or my values. Then one night, I placed a dried flower over the graphic.
It was a small change, but suddenly, the shirt felt completely different. To me, the flower transformed its meaning, from something that represented conflict into something that represented love.
That moment became the beginning of Grow Love.
From One Flower to an Entire System
Our beginning was straightforward: use a flower to change the meaning of a shirt.
But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted the flower to be part of something bigger. I didn't want it to be a one-time design or a permanent statement. I wanted the wearer to have a choice.
I started thinking about the process from the perspective of the person wearing the shirt.
What if you wake up feeling passionate? What if you need a little more peace? What if you're celebrating something? What if you want to carry compassion, simplicity, or something deeper with you?
Colors are associated with emotions and are a perfect visual representation of these feelings. So use colors as another element to the flower.
That became one of the most important ideas behind the design process. Grow Love wasn't created to tell people what they should feel. It was created to give people a way to express what they already feel, or perhaps what they want to feel, using different colors.
From there, the idea became a design challenge: how could the flower be beautiful, expressive, and completely interchangeable?
How the Magnetic Flower System Works
I knew the flower couldn't simply be permanently attached to the shirt. It needed to come off so the shirt could be washed, and so the wearer could change the expression whenever they wanted.
Snaps seemed like the obvious answer at first, until I thought about what they would actually do to the garment. Snaps require holes, can wear out over time, and could take away from the beauty and integrity of the design. That led to the idea of a removable magnetic flower attachment.
A small magnet is placed inside the flower and paired with a metal plate embedded behind the embroidered patch of the shirt. The flower attaches with a magnetic pull strong enough to hold through a full day of wear, but can be removed just as easily when it's time to wash the shirt or change the expression. The result is simple by design. One garment. Six interchangeable flowers. A different expression whenever you want one.
No sewing. No glue. No pins. Just a flower that attaches and detaches in seconds.
Six Interchangeable Flower Expressions
Every flower in the First Bloom collection represents a different way of loving:
- Passion — Red: Love boldly
- Peace — Blue: Love calmly
- Joy — Yellow: Love joyfully
- Compassion — Pink: Love kindly
- Simplicity — White: Love simply
- Depth — Black: Love limitlessly
These meanings are a starting point, not a rulebook.
That's the beauty of the system.
The idea isn't to choose one flower and stop. It's that the same tee can mean something different on a Tuesday than it does on a Saturday. You can change the flower based on your mood, your outfit, your day, or simply what you want to express.
The shirt changes because you change.
Designing Something That Can Grow With You
Our debut collection, First Bloom, is the beginning. Over time, the vision for Grow Love is to continue exploring new flowers, new colors, new meanings, and new ways for people to express themselves through what they wear.
The possibilities are endless. Different collections could represent different emotions, seasons, experiences, or ways of connecting. The idea is to create clothing that invites participation rather than simply presenting a finished design.
